Great American Beer Festival Awards 2012

Rick Mazzola - October 17, 2012
More beer. More judges. More awards.

A legion of judges brought their palates to bear at the 2012 Great American Beer Festival. A record 4,338 beers were judged in 84 distinct categories. An average of 52 beers were entered in each category, with the perennial, hop-head favorite American-Style IPA leading the suds-ridden pack with 203 entries!

185 judges from 11 countries awarded 254 medals. One can only fathom the palate fatigue.

Colorado brewers walked-off with 35 awards, including 15 gold.

Congratulations to the award winners! All of the Colorado breweries who took home medals can be found below. A full listing can be found at the Brewers Association website.
